  • This string figure represents a tarantula (spider of the Mygalomorphs infraorder) with his 8 legs and his hairy body.
    1. Lay out the string on 2 and 3.
    2. Rotate L2-L3 loop 180° anticlockwise and reinsert.
    3. Seize the dorsal R2/R3 string with L1 and L2 and extend.
    4. Proximally, insert L1 and L5 into the seized loop. Return.
    5. R1 and R2 pass proximal to left hand palmar string, seize the dorsal L2/L3 string and return.
    6. Proximally, insert L1 and L5 into the seized loop.
    7. Exchange L2 and L3, respectively with R2 and R3.
    8. R1 and R2 seize L1 loop to release L1 and insert proximally the former L1 loop into the L2 loop. Reinsert L1.
    9. R1 and R2 seize L5 loop to release L5 and insert proximally the former L5 loop into the L4 loop. Reinsert L5.
    10. Do the same two operations with opposite hand.
    11. Release 2 and 3.
    12. Extend.
